Showcase for Excellence

This area of the HMIE website is designed to allow users access to examples of Sector Leading and Innovative Practice (SLIP) and Excellence that have been obtained from HMIE evaluative work. The examples were identified during Annual Engagement Visits and college review activities.

This website features materials that are written or otherwise produced by:
• HMI, or by other members of inspection and review teams;
• others commissioned by us or acting on our behalf; and
• others as part of partnership working with us.

Please select the Showcase for Excellence material that you require by selecting from a Principle, Theme or Subject from a link below. This will then open a new window of examples from the HMIE Good Practice site.

Advice on sharing good practice with the inspection team

Colleges are invited to provide examples of Showcase for Excellence before Annual Engagement Visits or college reviews. The college receives a template, Showcase for Excellence document, and completes this before the activity commences. The Managing Inspector and the team will review the examples and make the college aware which ones are considered as SLIP or Excellence.
