FOLLOW-UP TO THE INSPECTION OF JAMES McFARLANE SCHOOL NORTH AYRSHIRE COUNCIL
The report on James McFarlane School was published in May 1999. HM Inspectors visited the School in October 2000 to evaluate progress made in responding to the main points for action in the report.
Overall, the education authority and school have made very good progress towards meeting the main points for action. The developments in self-evaluation and quality assurance were particularly commendable. In the light of this overall very good progress, HM Inspectors will make no further visits to the school in connection with the report of May 1999.
I attach an evaluation and brief account of the response made by the school and the education authority to the main points for action in the report.
I am sending a copy of this letter to parents of children and young people currently in the school and the other recipients of the inspection report.
