FOLLOW-UP TO THE INSPECTION OF MAXWELLTOWN HIGH SCHOOL, DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY COUNCIL
The report on Maxwelltown High School was published in June 1998. HM Inspectors visited the school in March 2000 to evaluate progress made in responding to the main points for action in the report.
I am satisfied that the school and the education authority have made good progress overall towards meeting most of the main points for action in the report and I am satisfied that progress will be maintained. However, I would like to receive, in September 2000 and 2001, reports from the education authority on the progress which the school makes towards improving pupils’ attainment.
I attach an evaluation and brief account of the response made by the school and the education authority to the main points for action in the report.
I am sending a copy of this letter to parents of children currently in the school and the other recipients of the inspection report.
