Part 2 - Profiles of parental participation in partner countries
 
Summary
 
At the initial project meeting, each national co-ordinator presented a profile of the range of approaches to parental participation in his or her country. Together, the profiles provided a comprehensive overview of parental participation across seven EU countries. The profiles are briefly summarised in this section under the six broad headings discussed.
 
  • The rights, duties and responsibilities of national/local education providers and parents with regard to providing education
  • School-home links
  • Assessment and reporting to parents on pupils' achievements
  • The role of parents in schools, including in classrooms
  • The involvement of parents in school self-evaluation and inspection
  • Parental involvement in the education of children with special educational needs
